Raipur- In the lead-up to the 2023 Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha elections, political parties are vigorously campaigning in the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel visited various constituencies in Bilaspur district, where he actively endorsed Congress party candidates.
During his visit, CM Bhupesh Baghel addressed a public gathering in the Tendua constituency of Kota in the Bilaspur district. During his speech, he launched a scathing attack on the BJP and its leaders. He noted that the first phase of elections, which covered 20 assembly constituencies, has already taken place, and in that phase, Raman Singh, the former Chief Minister, appears to be losing. Baghel stated that someone like Raman Singh should experience electoral defeat because he deceived everyone, exacerbated poverty, worsened malnutrition, distributed flawed mobile phones, and profited through commissions.
Furthermore, Baghel did not spare Ramdev Baba from his criticism, accusing him of selling counterfeit oil with closed eyes. He questioned why Ramdev Baba had not returned to Chhattisgarh for five years. The Chief Minister’s remarks shed light on the election discourse, calling out political opponents and influential figures.
Baghel also mentioned the tragic incident that occurred on the same day in Kannan Pendari, where several women lost their lives due to a botched sterilization procedure, which was related to a commission scam involving illegal sterilizations, hysterectomies, and eye surgeries. The incident highlights the consequences of corruption and negligence in healthcare procedures, resulting in multiple fatalities.
Regarding a statement made by BJP MP Ravi Kishan, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel responded by saying that Amit Shah had previously challenged him in Pandaria, and he had responded by suggesting that Shah should determine the place and time for the debate. Bhupesh Baghel emphasized his readiness for a healthy debate.
