Raipur: As the nation gallops to achieve maximum coverage of citizens against the novel virus, Chhattisgarh CM Baghel on Tuesday wrote to PM Modi requesting for a new batch of vaccines for the coming month. 

As reported by the Chief Ministers Office (CMO), Bhupesh Baghel in his letter requested the PM to provide at least 1 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses for the state in the month of July.  The letter also informed that the state could run its vaccination program for the coming 3 days only where it could vaccinate 9,98,810 beneficiaries. 

The CM further stated that Chhattisgarh expedited its inoculation rates vaccinating nearly 3 lakh individuals daily. As per the state health bulletin, so far, 71 percent of frontline workers and 70 percent of healthcare workers have been administered both the doses of the vaccines. Nearly 91 percent of the health care workers and all frontline staff have been administered the first dose of the vaccine. 

Besides these, nearly 80 percent of citizens aged 45 and above have also been administered their first dose, while 16 percent beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 received the first dose. Out of the 32,90,29,510 doses administered across the nation, 92,01,377 doses have been administered in Chhattisgarh.
