Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, recently responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on nepotism by suggesting that the PM should reflect on his party, the BJP, for examples of practices. Mr. Baghel openly shared his thoughts with the press. Highlighted instances where BJP members and their relatives have held influential positions.

Bringing attention to nepotism within the BJPs ranks, Mr. Baghel mentioned the case of Baliram Kashyap, an MP from Bastar. He pointed out that two of his sons have followed in their father’s footsteps. One currently serving as an MP, and the other as an MLA who has also held responsibilities in the past. Additionally, the Chief Minister shed light on Raman Singhs sons career, who currently holds an MP position. He also raised questions about whether Rajnath Singh’s’ son received treatment in terms of ticket allocation.

Mr. Baghel didn’t stop there. Taking a direction in the conversation, he addressed concerns about favoritism in resource allocation and contracts. Specifically, he expressed reservations regarding infrastructure like mines, ports, and airports being allotted to a select few individuals or entities. Specifically mentioning the Adani Group. He questioned why Adani seemed to have access to all mining opportunities.

“Why do all the major ports and airports seem to be moving in the direction?” He emphasized that if Chhattisgarh were to impose restrictions on mining activities, it would be subjected to a high number of raids, which raises doubts about the intentions behind these actions.
