Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has recently introduced the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana,” a program designed to provide housing aid to individuals across the state.
This initiative aims to support people who require housing assistance. They were excluded from programs due to their exclusion from the 2011 survey list. To address this issue, the Baghel government has decided to conduct the “Chhattisgarh State Socio-Economic Survey 2023” between April 1, 2023, and April 30, 2023. The survey covered a total of 5,979,000 families. Identified around 1,076,545 families who currently lack housing or reside in temporary structures. To address this problem and ensure these families have homes, the Chief Minister launched the Rural Housing Justice Scheme in July of this year. The state government has committed to covering all implementation costs associated with this scheme.
As part of this program’s implementation strategy, families residing in areas will receive Rs 1.30 lakh as assistance for housing needs. Meanwhile, those living in these areas will be granted Rs 1.20 lakh for their housing requirements. In its phase, this scheme aims to benefit 47,090 homeless families.
Chief Minister Baghel revealed that the funding will be distributed between inaccessible areas (IAP) and plain areas (non-IAP). In IAP districts, each family will receive an allocation of Rs 1,30,000 while in IAP districts, the allocation will be Rs 1,20,000 per family.
Additionally, eligible families who have been identified under the Rural Housing Justice Scheme will also receive an amount of Rs 12,000 based on their eligibility. This amount will be provided through the convergence of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen and MNREGA. This demonstrates the state government’s dedication to addressing housing needs.
