The political crisis between Chhattisgarh CM Baghel and Singh Deo had deepened majorly in the past few weeks. It reached a state where both Baghel and Deo had to meet congress party chief Rahul Gandhi to discuss the party’s shortcomings. Though no decision to change the CM or any other ministerial position is on the cards now, it seems Deo is not ready to operate under Baghel’s rule.
On the other hand, CM Baghel and a team of 46 MLAs went to Delhi two days back to meet congress leader Sonia Gandhi. As soon as they arrived back at Swami Vivekananda Airport at Raipur on Saturday, the entire airport premises was heard echoing slogans of “Baghel Zindabad” as thousands of his supporters gathered in the airport to welcome them.
Almost 2 thousand bike riders rallied throughout the way of the airport. The entire team of MLAs and the Chief Minister were sent back by special plane. The meeting in Delhi was “just a meeting” as said by Chhattisgarh CM Baghel while asking about it by the media. It is yet to be seen how Singh Deo and his supporters react to this.
