Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel recently expressed criticism of the BJP during a press conference in Raipur. He addressed the BJP’s accusations that the Congress was engaging in politics by emphasising the importance of upholding the rule of law in Chhattisgarh.
Baghel reflected on the state’s situation five years ago when it was dealing with challenges posed by Naxalites. He stated, “Five years ago Chhattisgarh was deeply affected by Naxalism. However, today we have successfully confined their activities to areas.” He did not hesitate to place blame on the BJP for escalating violence and unrest during their governance period. Accused them of having a penchant for “bloodshed, aggression and animosity.”
Continuing his critique, the CM alleged that under the pretext of agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) department, the BJP is attempting to disrupt peace in Chhattisgarh. He claimed that their true intention was to grant mining rights in the state to the Adani Group while diverting attention from this motive.
Baghel pointed out saying, “Despite SECL being a revenue generator and leading coal producer, its mines are being handed over to Adani. They even intended to allocate NMDC mines to Adani. Fortunately, our state government thwarted their efforts.” As a result, the central government conspired against the government of Chhattisgarh.”
