Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Distributes Sweets and Shawls to Chawdi Laborers to mark beginning of new year

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel welcomed the new sun with new rays of hope with a kind note. He distributed sweets and shawls to the laborers in Chawdi village in Kanker district. Asking each of them about their well-being, he appreciated the laborers for their hard work and contributions in shaping the infrastructure of the state. 

“The height of development we see in the state today, its foundation was laid by the shramveers. The year 2020 brought a lot of challenges with itself. Many of our laborers were stranded in other states. We ensured that our fellow citizen laborers got help.

We coordinated with other states and made arrangements for their safe return, quarantine, and treatment”, remarked CM Baghel, adding – “I am happy that we could help not only the workers of Chhattisgarh but also those of other states who were stranded in Chhattisgarh. They were provided food and transport facility”.

The CM also declared that the Dai-Didi (Mother-Sister) mobile clinic vans, which were launched in November 2020 to mark the birth anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi, will get off the ground to look after the health of the laborers and will provide free treatment and medicines. The laborers were overwhelmed with joy to have met the Chief Minister in person.
