Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Identifies 54 Acres to Celebrate Rajim Mela

Rajim, the town situated in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh, is considered as the cultural center of the state. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, during a short visit to the town, has identified 54 acres of land, where Rajim Mela will be held every year. The Chief Minister has revealed that the area includes some private land, which has been obtained by the government from the farmers who were the owners, in lieu of a legitimate price.

The town is basically a point of Triveni Sangam or confluence where three rivers Mahanadi, Sondur, and Pairi meet. Every year, during the mega fair known as ‘Rajim mela’, people from across the districts as well as states like Maharashtra and Odisha gather at the confluence of the three rivers, to attend the fair. 

Baghel, during his inspection visit, announced that all types of essential constructions and arrangements will be performed at the fair-site so that people visiting from every corner of the country get all possible facilities.

He further announced that the already constructed community health center at Fingeshwar will be named after Rajim Dai, the bhakti mahtari, after whose name the town has been titled. The CM also announced 50 lakhs for the Dharamshala which is being constructed in Rajim, along with 5 acres of land for a research institute also named after Rajim Mata.
