In fact, an important meeting of business organizations and Chamber officials was held at the state office on Monday under the chairmanship of State President Satish Thaurani. At the meeting, officials expressed deep anger over the planned attack on the local tribal community by missionaries in Amabeda, Kanker district, and the discriminatory attitude of the local administration. The Chamber decided to mobilize all its efforts. At the beginning of the meeting, Chamber State General Secretary Ajay Bhasin informed the officials present about the Amabeda incident.
Former MLA and Chamber patron Shrichand Sundarani described the incident as tragic and said that the increasing incidents of religious conversions pose a threat to the state’s peace. He suggested that the strike be well-planned to minimize financial losses to transportation and raw material traders, but the message of protest should be clear and articulate. Former MLA Labhchand Bafna said that the strike should not be limited to Raipur. Every unit in the state should reach out to even the smallest traders, so that the message of unity reaches from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
Traders will protest on the streets
The meeting unanimously decided to take to the streets to protest this incident. Traders will gather at major intersections to express their strong anger against these anti-social incidents. The president of the Bhatgaon Traders Association has fully supported the strike and announced that they will submit a memorandum to the collector on this issue.
