Raipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is currently, on a visit to Chhattisgarh before the 2023 assembly elections, presented a report against the government led by Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday. The Minister accused the state government of diverting Chhattisgarh’s development path, alleging an increase in corruption and a lack of progress since Bhupesh Baghel assumed office.
Speaking in Raipur, Shah claimed that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has misused the state resources for the benefit of the Gandhi family, likening their governance to being an “ATM for the Gandhis.” He also criticized Baghel for his handling of food grain distribution during the pandemic. Shah emphasized that while Prime Minister Modi had initiated distributing five kilograms of grains to citizens Baghels administration only provided 15 kilograms, leaving residents shortchanged by five kilograms.
Shah fondly reminisced about Raman Singh’s tenure as the BJP Chief Minister. Singh, affectionately known as ‘Chawal Wale Baba’ in Chhattisgarh, had implemented a thumbprint system to ensure ration delivery to households. According to Shah, Singh’s BJP government prioritized welfare measures for the contrast, to what he accused the Baghels administration of doing: depriving those in need of their entitled rations.
On a note, the Minister of Home Affairs took a moment to recognize and commend the endeavors of ISRO, expressing his congratulations, for the commencement of the Surya mission. Shah’s visit intends to rally support, for the BJP as they strive to regain control of the state in the elections.
