Raipur: AIIMS Raipur had shut down its OPD Facility on April 17 citing the shortage of doctors to handle patients.
Re-commencing their services on June 7, the OPD registered more than 700 patients. A set of guidelines has been constituted for patients willing to visit the hospital. As per the guidelines, the patients will have to register online for OPD services. Registration can be processed through https://ors.gov.in/index.html. The link is also available on the AIIMS website.
As per the instructions, the OPD operates from 9 am to 1:30 pm during which general departments will attend 50 patients while only 20 patients will be attended in super speciality departments. Only one attendant can accompany the patient and is directed to follow strict COVID protocols whilst on the premises of the hospital.
On communicating, Dr Nitin M Nagarkar stated that the general department had divided the 50 patients in a ratio of 30:20 where it would check 30 old and 20 new patients. Similarly, an equal ratio of new: old OPs was dictated in super specialty departments.
Special Breast care clinics will operate every Wednesday between 2 pm and 4 pm under the direction of Dr Radhakrishna Ramchandani.
The hospital administration has decided to monitor the operations for a week, following which a review meeting will decide further operations.
