Raipur: The rate of infection has not yet lessened in Chhattisgarh. On Thursday, the state reported 16,750 new Covid-19 cases and 207 Covid patients died on the same day. The medical experts stated that the infection has spread in the state to a great extent. The State Government will take some time to contain the infection.

For this, a video conference was held with the Centre. After the discussion, the State Government announced that the lockdown will be extended till May 5 to break the chain of infection.

The State Government has also announced that the delivery of cooking gas shall remain exempted from the lockdown. The E-commerce services like Flipkart and Amazon will also be exempted from the lockdown. But the physical shops shall remain closed in the lockdown. The food delivery services like Zomato and Swiggy will remain halted in this extended lockdown.

The work in the construction sites or in the factories shall be exempted from the restrictions if the managers arrange spaces for the workers to live inside the factories. As the Covid-19 cases are increasing at a rapid scale in Chhattisgarh, the Government took this decision to curb the infection.
