Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme, now kidney transplant surgery and brain angiography will also be done. Many high-end medicines have also been included in this along with new packages related to heart diseases, complex spine surgeries, and blood disorders. The Health Department of the State Government had sent proposals to the National Health Agency from time to time to revise the rates of treatment packages and include new packages. 

The rates of about 800 packages have been revised. With the inclusion of new packages and high-end medicines in the scheme and an increase in the rates of old packages, the hospitals registered under the scheme will be able to provide more medical services to the patients. With this, patients will not have to spend their own money during the treatment of various diseases in hospitals.

A new package of Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD – Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) has been added for patients with Chronic Renal Failure, expanding the scope of treatment under the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana. 

Under this package reserved for government hospitals, nephrologists in government hospitals or the private sector can refer the patient to DKS Super Specialty Hospital or AIIMS (AIIMS) in Raipur for catheter insertion. Patients can get CAPD bags for a month from the identified government hospitals. The Health Department and the National Health Mission will jointly provide this facility. A package of Rs 22 thousand has been fixed for one month’s CAPD bag.

Renal or Kidney Transplant surgery including immunosuppressive treatment in government and registered private hospitals has also been included in Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana. Under this package, patients will be provided with donor nephrectomy and transplant surgery as well as essential medicines to be taken for one year after the transplant. High-end medicines such as Immunoglobulin for Guillain Barre Syndrome, Kawasaki, Albumin for Burns, Nephrotic syndrome, or other listed hypoproteinemia is also included in the plan.
