Raipur: Citing the massive surge in the states’ infection tally, authorities on Thursday ordered all College and Universities to shut down immediately, However, separate guidelines for conducting the semester exams was issued by the state officials.
As per the guidelines, the first and second semester exams for all courses are to be held in a hybrid mode. The report further stated, “instructions should be given to the academic and non-academic staff of the college and universities to attend their workplace in one-third of their total strength on the basis of the roster method.”
Schools in areas recording a positivity rate more than 4 per cent or more have been ordered to shut down. This shut down was prompted by an announcement from CM Bhupesh Baghel’s office a week ago. New restrictions were issued under which COVID curbs have been imposed and schools have been closed on a conditional basis. Apart from the schools, swimming pools, malls, cinemas, marriage palaces, hotels, restaurants, auditoriums will also be closed in all districts with a positivity rate of 4% or more. The state government has also imposed imposing a night curfew in the state from 10 pm to 6 am.
Chhattisgarh joined the list of Omicron inflicted states that imposed lockdown-like restrictions. On Wednesday, over 10,000 infections and 4 deaths were recorded.
