Raipur. Chhattisgarh State Election Commission held an important meeting today in the Election Bhawan located in Nava Raipur regarding the Municipal Corporation and three-tier Panchayat elections. This meeting was chaired by State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh. Collectors and Deputy Election Officers of all the districts participated in the meeting through video conferencing. In this meeting, many issues were discussed in detail in view of the elections.
State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh said after the meeting that a meeting of the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, IG, SP and Collector Commissioner of the state was called. The final publication of the voter list has been reviewed. Feedback has been sought from the districts on how many phases the election should be held in, from the point of view of force. He said that the board exams are going to start from March 1, our effort will be that there is no disruption in the board exams. It is very important for teachers and students to have the exams on time.
State Election Commission Secretary Dr Sarveshwar Bhure said that there has been a discussion about the upcoming urban body and panchayat elections. Discussions were held on polling stations, polling personnel, security and voter list. Preparations for the final publication of the voter list have been completed. This subject has been discussed with the District Election Officers.
Guidelines have also been given for conducting fair voting. Instructions have also been given to make security arrangements by marking sensitive and highly sensitive booths. In view of security, input has been taken from intelligence and police about how many phases the elections can be held in. Efforts will be made to ensure that the board exams are not affected.
