RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh on the 21st day of paddy procurement has purchased around1 lakh 22 thousand 753 metric tonnes of paddy from 35,742 registered farmers on minimum support price. Apart from this, 20,000 MT of paddy has been procured fron farmers who registered online.
The procurement in CG began on November 1, an official communication said. On 21st Nov the total paddy procurement reached above 10 LMT, as per official sources.
Food Secretary Topeshwar Verma said Rs 2109.81 crore was paid to 3 lakh 229 thousand farmers. It is worth noting that the administration issued, 47,427 tokens through online platform and 6082 through ‘Tunhar Hath’ application.
Paddy lifting has also begun for custom miling. So far 4 lakh 30 thousand 632 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted out the 7 lakh 64 thousand 067 metric tonnes of paddy for which the D.O. have been issued.
In the current kharif marketing year, the procurement target of paddy is 110 lakh tonnes. The state has registered 25.92 lakh farmers, out of which 1.86 lakh are new farmers. There are 2,497 procurement centres.
