Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Police has confiscated a large stock of liquor that was brought cheaply from Goa and was being transported to Navi Raipur. A total of 20 boxes of unclaimed liquor was found on the road near Khandwa village. It is believed to be carrying 960 bottles and the total anticipated value of the stock is worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs.

The liquor was being transported in the truck without any proper documentation. The police also found that the liquor was being sold at a much lower price than the market price. The police said that they received a tip-off about a truck carrying liquor from Goa to Navi Raipur. The police intercepted the truck and have registered a case under the Excise Act.

The confiscation of the liquor is a major blow to the liquor smugglers. It is also a reminder of the dangers of consuming illegal liquor. Illegal liquor is often adulterated and can be harmful to health.

The Chhattisgarh Police has appealed to the people to avoid consuming illegal liquor and to purchase liquor only from licensed vendors. The police have also warned that strict action will be taken against those who are involved in the smuggling of liquor.

The confiscation of the liquor is a welcome step by the Chhattisgarh Police. In lieu of this SSP Prashant Aggarwal has instructed all the police gazetted officers, station in charge, anti-crime, and cyber units to take strict action to stop liquor smuggling in the state. It is important to crack down on liquor smuggling and to ensure that the people of Chhattisgarh have access to safe and legal liquor.
