RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh Millet Carnival is all set to begin tomorrow in the state’s capital Raipur. The carnival organized at the Subash Stadium under the joint aegis of the State minor forest produce association and the IIMR Hyderabad will conclude on 19th February.
The Carnival will witness renowned Indian chefs that would educate the mass on millet-based dishes. A special millet food court would be set up where the citizens would be able to relish millet delicacies.
The Carnival aims to educate people about the importance of millet in their daily diet and to create awareness about its nutritional value. A panel of experts would hold discussions on the advantages of millets.
Apart from this millet-based start-ups would also display their packaged products to generate customer demand.
The Baghel govt on January 10, 2022, launched the Millet Mission. The mission was commenced by signing an MoU between the ICAR-IIMT and 14 districts of the state. Chhattisgarh is the first state where Kodo, Kutki is being procured at Rs 30 per kg and Ragi at Rs 33.77.
