Raipur: Two days after the medical students from Ukraine agitated in the capital city Raipur, State health Minister TS Singh Deo has written to the Centre urging it to accommodate medical students who have returned from war-hit nation Ukraine, officials said on Wednesday.
In a letter addressed to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Singh Deo expressed concern about the future of these students. The letter read- “Regarding the future and further education of these medical students of other states including Chhattisgarh, who came back to the country in large numbers, I have urged you through a letter to take appropriate initiative immediately.” He further mentioned that this move would also remove the shortage of doctors in the country and benefit the public.
Additionally, sources also mentioned that Deo had attached a letter along with his, where 207 students and their parents expressed concern about their educational future after returning to India.
Around 207 medical students hailing from Chhattisgarh returned home after Moscow launched attacks on Ukraine coercing them to leave behind their settlements in view of safety.
