Raipur: Special facility centers have been set up in the Town Hall of the Collectorate complex of the capital for voting through postal ballot in the district. Today voting was done through postal ballot in these centres. This facility will also be available during elections on 15th and 16th November.
Its timing will be from 10 am to 5 pm. Voters of the district who are engaged in various election works like polling team, micro observer, driver, cleaner FST in or outside the district. They can cast their vote through postal ballot.
Those officers and employees posted on election duty who have submitted applications in Form 12 for the postal ballot and have not voted through postal ballot, will be able to vote in these convenience centres. Assembly constituency number Dharsiwa-47, Raipur Rural-48, Raipur Nagar West-49, Raipur Nagar North-50, Raipur Nagar South-51, Arang-52, Abhanpur-53 and Balodabazar assembly number-54 in Raipur district. This facility is available for the officers and employees attached to the polling stations.
Meanwhile, the second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly elections is set to witness voting in 70 constituencies on November 17. The campaigning will cease from 5 PM today, 48 hours before the polling ends. During this period, candidates are permitted to conduct door-to-door outreach. A total of 958 candidates, including 827 males, 130 females, and one third gender candidate, are contesting in this phase.
The state expects 1,63,14,479 voters to exercise their franchise, comprising 81,41,624 male voters, 81,72,171 female voters, and 684 third-gender voters. To ensure smooth voting, 18,833 polling centers have been established, with 700 exclusively managed by female polling staff.
