Raipur: The CG State Education department has announced to hold classes in their multiple languages. Around 12 lakh students will benefit from the new introduction. It has also informed that books for classes 1 and 2 have already been delivered.
Around 16 dialects and 4 regional languages have been introduced into the education system. The announcement was made by the Additional Director of SCERT Dr Yogesh Shivhare.
Languages like Chhattisgarhi, Dorli, Kudukh, Bagheli, Halbi, Bhatri, Dhurvi Gondi, Sadri, Kamari, BSargujiha, Baigani, Madia would now be used in Chhattisgarh as a medium of education.
Chhattisgarhi is an Indo-Aryan dialect, spoken by approximately 16 million people from Chhattisgarh & other states. It is mostly spoken in the Indian states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra. It is an official language in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, along with Hindi & English. It is closely related to (and counted by the Indian national census as a dialect of) Hindi but shares a lot of grammatical similarities with many Dravidian languages.
