Bijapur: A Congress leader from Chhattisgarh has been arrested by the Chhattisgarh Police along with two women Maoists based on the information received from the police informer. The Congress leader is the General Secretary of the Bhopalpatnam Block Congress Committee of Bijapur district.
Police caught the three accused while the Congress leader was taking the two women to Warangal in Telangana for treatment. Meanwhile, the police arrested all three near Hanamakonda. Official confirmation to the matter has yet to come.
Earlier on October 4, the Security Forces (SFs) had recovered five kilogram Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the Communist Party of India (CPI-Maoist) during the search operation in the forests of Mankot in Tadoki area in kanker district of Chhattisgarh. The state government has been trying hard to keep maoists activities to its minimum. However, involvement of a Congress leader with Maoists can also prove dangerous to the state.
