RAIPUR: ‘Chhattisgarh Gaurav Diwas’ is bei celebrated on at the state capital city Raipur today to commemorate the completion of four years of the govt under the leadership of Baghel. He also inaugrated a statue of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahtari’ at Collectorate Chowk. Gauthans, cooperative society complexes, paddy procurement centres, Tendupatta collection centres, sites of forest produce management committees and haat-bazaars in rural areas are also organizing events for the day.
Addressing the residents through video conferencing CM Bhupesh Baghel launched a film based on Chhattisgarh Gaurav Diwas on the occasion. Apart from this, the Bhumi Pujan and inauguration of 14 development works of Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department costing Rs 3396.75 lakh was also done.
In urban areas, events are being held in each ward where achievements by the government on various fronts in the last four years will be highlighted. Events are also being organized where farmers will b briefed about agricultural schemes such as interest-free loan as well as Nyay programmes.
The State Government over its tenure of four yeara has taken inclusive development as priority and has adopted a new model of development to ensure justice ‘Nyay’ to every section of the society. Rural economy is the main focus of this development model. Paddy is cultivated on about 31 lakh hectare area. Over 2500 paddy procurement centres have been set up in the state to buy paddy at the support price.
Farmer- friendly policies and programs of the Chief Minister have brought positive transformation in the villages and agriculture sector. As soon as the Congress govt came into power, CM Baghel waived off the farmers’ loans and irrigation taxes which were due for a long time, and took various initiatives to strengthen the rural economy.
