Raipur: CG Budget concluded on March 22nd ahead of its schedule passing the budget for the FY 2022-23. Concluding listed businesses for the day, Speaker Chandrakant Mahant on Tuesday adjourned the session sine dine.

“This (financial) year there is a situation of revenue surplus in the state. The revenue of the state declined due to the second wave of COVID-19, but better financial management helped us in borrowing less loans. The gross fiscal deficit of the state is estimated at Rs 14,600 crore and total revenue surplus of Rs 702 crore is estimated in the year 2022-23,” the CM informed the House.

According to the reports, CG Budget 2022-23 saw 72.45 hours of business where 10 yieldful meetings were held. The Question hour recorded 854 starred questions and 828 unstarred questions put forth by all members of the house. During the course of 10 sittings, the house witnessed 94 adjournment notices.

Around 144 petitions were tabled in the Budget FY 2022-23. 66 out of them were accepted and the rest were denied approval. 11 non-official resolutions were given, out of which 4 underwent a dialogue and 2 lapsed. The session recorded notices of 4 Bills that were discussed and passed. Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, 2022 amounting to Rs 1,12,603 crore was one amongst those tabled and passed.

The next session is expected to be held in the second week of July, the speaker informed while closing the budget session.
