RAIPUR: The CG Govt has declared a general holiday on the occasion of Chetrichandra (Cheti Chand) festival on March 23. The holiday will be effective in urban areas, mainly Municipal Corporations and Municipal Council areas.

The School Education Department has clarified that there will be no changes in the already scheduled examinations

The notice further mentioned that all banks and government financial institutions, treasuries, sub-treasuries and co-operative banks will remain open in the state. All government offices located in Naya Raipur and those located in the rural areas of the state will also remain open.

Chetrichandra (Cheti Chand) festival is celebrated by the Sindhi community to mark the Hindu new year.
