Kanker: Priyanka Gandhi arrived today in Govindpuri as chief guest to the Urban body and Panchayati Raj conference. Addressing the conference, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen Panchayati Raj.
“LIVE: Congress handed over powers to the people by implementing Panchayati Raj, Chhattisgarh government strengthened the Panchayats by giving them more powers”, wrote Priyanka Gandhi.
“We will conduct caste census as soon as Congress government is formed again in Chhattisgarh.- Smt. Priyanka Gandhi”, tweeted CM Baghel.
Congress General Secretary said that the Congress will do a caste survey in the state if it wins the assembly elections. Further, she also tried her hands on a charkha at ‘Panchayat Raj Mahasammelan’ in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker region.
Making an election pitch in the state during her speech she said, “My grandmother Indira Gandhi visited Bastar in 1972. My father and mother also visited Bastar many times to understand the problems faced by the people of Chhattisgarh and find consultations”.
Many leaders including state in-charge Kumari Selja, CM Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy CM TS Signhdev, State Congress President Deepak Baij, Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant, Minister Ravindra Choubey, Tamradhwaj Sahu, Shiv Dahria participated in the program.
