Chhattisgarh: An important cabinet meeting was held on 8th Sept under the chairmanship of CM Baghel at his residence office. Mr Baghel’s cabinet decided to promote the processing of minor forest produce and medicinal based plant industries in the state. 70% of the raw annual material supply has been promised by the govt to the industries established under the new Industrial policy 2019-21, through Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Production Association. The cabinet further decided to include all the Kharif crops from Kharif year 2021-22 under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Under the scheme, an exchange grant of Rs 9 thousand per acre per year will be provided to the farmers producing agriculture and horticulture crops in the Kharif season.
The meeting also decided to implement Millet (Small Grain) Mission for Kodo, Kutki, Rabi crops in Chhattisgarh from the financial year 2022-23. Millets so produced will be procured by Minor Forest Produce Co-operative Federation through Van Dhan societies.
Under the Chhattisgarh Mahatri Dulari Yojana 2021, the cabinet approved the maximum limit of expenditure e to be borne by the govt in respect of private schools run by the govt. The Council of Ministers (CoM) also approved the reservation and rules for SC, ST and other backward castes of the newly formed districts.
Furthermore, the Baghel govt announced Tribal National Festival from 28 October to November 1st. Additionally, permission was granted to formulate Chhattisgarh Film Policy to bring grandeur to the state and uplift its employment policies.
The CoM cited the hike in fuel prices as responsible for the revised rate of passenger fare vehicles. Likewise, any resident of Chhattisgarh holding a certificate of ‘Naxal Affected Person’ duly issued by the Collector, on the recommendation of Superintendent of Police of the concerned district, while travelling by bus within the state will be provided 50 per cent discount on the passenger fare. While physically disabled would b given a 100 per cent discount.
