Raipur: The budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will begin today, February 23, and will continue until March 20. A total of 15 sittings of the House will be held during this period. The session will begin with an address by Governor Ramen Deka. Following the address, a vote of thanks will be presented, after which Finance Minister OP Choudhary will present the Economic Survey for the year 2025-26 to the House.
The Governor’s address and the vote of thanks will be discussed in the House on February 25. During the session, the House will pay tribute to the late MLA Deendayal Porte of undivided Madhya Pradesh.
A total of 2,813 questions have been raised by legislators regarding the Budget Session, including 1,437 starred and 1,378 unstarred questions. In addition, 61 notices of calling attention have been received. One notice for discussion on a matter of urgent public importance has been received under Rule 139. The House Secretariat also received notices of 13 private resolutions, 9 Zero Hour notices, and 112 petitions.
The budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 will be presented in the Assembly on February 24 at 12:30 p.m. A general discussion on the budget will take place on February 26 and 27. Following this, department-wise grant demands will be discussed from March 9 to 17. The Appropriation Bill will be discussed on March 17 and passed on March 18.
