Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a total of 36,170 crore loan as credit by the Reserve Bank of India, Rural Infrastructure Development Fund of NABARD, and GST loans through central government and Asian Development/World Bank during the last two years.
In the budget session of the Assembly, CM Bhupesh Baghel questioned the loans BJP member Shivartan Sharma claimed from December 2018-2021 January.
To this the CM was attacked with the loan of 41 thousand 239 crores that the government has availed. The BJP member alleges the government facts and the opposition in the house objected to the chief minister’s reply.
BJP MLA Shivartan Sharma questioned the revenue expenditure and capital expenditure. In his reply, Bhupesh Baghel said, “It is not possible to indicate this. The government spends the amount as per the requirement.”
On being asked about the maximum limit of loan for the state government; CM Bhupesh Baghel said that 25 percent of the GSDP can be availed and as of now the state government has only taken up 20 percent debt.
