Kanker, CG: A BSF Jawan sustained injuries in an IED blast near Markanar village under the Police Station limit of Koyalibeda in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker on Friday.
“One BSF jawan was injured in an IED blast near Markanar village under Koylibeda PS limit,” said Shalabh Sinha, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kanker.
As per reports, a road opening party (ROP) was deployed to move an ailing colleague from the Panidobir camp who needed medical attention. The Jawans, two in number were on motorcycles on their way back to Koyalibeda camp after picking up the ailing jawan when they came under the grid of the IED planted by Naxalites. Only one jawan was injured during the blast suspected to have been trigerred by the Naxals and had been admitted to the nearest hospital for medical assistance.
Subsequently, security forces recovered two live IEDs from the area and a search operation is still underway.
