Marwahi police station has arrested a gang of thieves. The accused were armed and targeted deserted houses. Gangs often used to commit theft incidents in the border areas of the district including Gaurela Pendra Marwahi. The police have arrested the buyers including 6 members of the Il Chor gang.
The patrolling police had stopped the accused. During interrogation and searching the bag, ax, chisel and hammer were found from the accused. During interrogation, the accused were found at five places in Marwahi police station area (Ratga, Rajadih, Kumhari, Tendumuda), Dubatia in Pendra, Lata, Andi and Newri Navapara in Gaurela police station area, from a house in Khodri Matindai in Pasan police station area of district Korba and Admitted to theft in Tenganmada of Belgahna outpost of Bilaspur and Udaipur of Ambikapur.
Police seized a hammer, chisel, two big knives, a country-made pistol and stolen gold and silver jewelery from the accused. 11 gundi, 21 wallet, 21 dauri, 2 pana, 56 lota, 8 glasses, 13 plates, 13 bowls, 1 ladle were seized from the buyer. The police have registered an offense against the accused under the Arms Act along with relevant sections.
