Chhattisgarh: CM Baghel in a virtual address on Saturday released the funds for the development of the BR Yadav Sports Training Centre, Bahtari. The Baghel led government has dedicated a sum of Rs 42.14 crore for the upcoming academy in Raipur and Bilaspur. Baghel also launched the hockey, athletic and archery and residential Kabbaddi academy for girls in Bilaspur.
The program was presided by State sports Minister Umesh Patel. Youth Mitan Clubs are being formed in the state to revive the culture of sports in the state. During the event, Baghel interacted with several sports players that brought laurels to the state. Earlier, Atal Shrivastav, President of Tourism inspecting the athletic tracks directed the Assistant Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department to deploy two buses for transport from Railway station via CMD Maidan, and Police Lines for the academy. According to him, this would attract tourists and increase youth participation simultaneously. The academy would begin taking in registrations from October 12, 13 and 14.
