Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said the opposition BJP and its leaders were constantly creating obstacles and trying to stall the probe into the Maoist attack that killed state’s frontline Congress leaders in May 2013.
Talking to reporters at the helipad before leaving for Dantewada for his ongoing mass outreach campaign, he said there is a BJP government at the centre. When we want to take over the probe from the NIA, they take the matter to the court.
May 25th this year is the 9th anniversary of Jheeram Valley Maoist attack in which the then state Congress president Nandkumar Patel, former leader of the opposition in the assembly Mahendra Karma, Congress veteran and former Union minister V C Shukla and former Congress legislator Uday Mudaliyar and 26 others were killed on May 25th, 2013.
The Congress leaders were on a convoy when the Maoists ambushed them in Darbha Valley. Baghel said the leader of the opposition himself had moved the court to challenge the judicial commission probe into the attack.
