Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Chhattisgarh BJP made appointments for district presidents. State BJP President Kiran Singhdev has appointed district presidents for four districts. According to the released list, Pawan Sahu has been appointed as the president of Balod, Prakash Bais for Dhamtari, Shyam Narang for Raipur Rural, and Mahesh Verma for Bhilai.

The BJP has removed Bhilai district president Brijesh Bichpuriya from his position. In his place, Mahesh Verma, a four-time councilor, has been appointed as the district president. The former district president, Brijesh Bichpuriya, had faced allegations of withdrawing money from the BJP’s account without the treasurer’s approval. The BJP had replaced the Bhilai district president a year before the assembly elections.

State BJP President Kiran Singhdev, in a statement, expressed confidence in the newly appointed district presidents and emphasized their roles in strengthening the party’s organizational structure at the grassroots level. He highlighted the importance of cohesive leadership to ensure effective communication with the public and to address their concerns.

The decision to replace Brijesh Bichpuriya reflects the party’s commitment to maintaining integrity and accountability within its leadership. Mahesh Verma, the new Bhilai district president, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and commitment to the role.

This move by the Chhattisgarh BJP comes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, indicating a strategic approach to solidify the party’s presence at the district level. The timely appointments of district presidents aim to streamline the party’s organizational machinery and foster a robust network for effective election campaigning.

The Chhattisgarh BJP’s focus on district-level leadership changes underscores the significance of local dynamics and the need for strong leadership to navigate the political landscape in the run-up to the elections. The appointments are poised to play a crucial role in the party’s election strategy, ensuring effective representation and coordination at the grassroots level in Chhattisgarh.
