Raipur: Youth activists of party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intend to demonstrate outside the residence of the Chhattisgarh chief minister in Raipur, Aug. 24. The protestors demand the authorities reduce unemployment and corrupt practices in the state.
In view of the agitation, the district administration has deployed more than 40 DSPs and Additional SPs across sites that are speculated as protest points. More than 70 TIs, 120 sub-inspectors, and 11, 000 policemen have been engaged in the teams led by DSP and Additional SPs.
Protestors in thousands will gather at the Municipal corporation office and proceed towards CM House via OCM Chowk. Taking into consideration the traffic congestion that can occur, road from Kotwali Chowk to Fire Brigade Chowk, Shastri Chowk to Banjari Chowk, Mahila Thana Chowk to Kali Mandir, Kabir Chowk, Canal Road to Chhattisgarh Club Chowk, and PWD Chowk to Circuit House have been barricaded.
Traffic advisory has been issued and people have been urged to avoid routes that might witness demonstrations. They are requested to cooperate with security personnel.
