Raipur- In a significant projection, the Congress party is expected to triumphantly return to power in Chhattisgarh, per the latest IANSPolstrat Opinion Poll 2023. The survey, conducted between September 1 and September 13, garnered responses from a substantial sample size of 3,672 individuals, providing valuable insights into the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Congress is predicted to secure 62 seats in the Chhattisgarh Assembly, poised to regain a majority in the 90-member legislative body. Currently holding 68 seats, this projection signifies a robust performance by the Congress. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is anticipated to secure 27 seats, reflecting a significant difference in the projected seat distribution.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel enjoys strong approval ratings, with 60 per cent of respondents endorsing him as the leading candidate for the Chief Ministerial position. In contrast, Raman Singh of the BJP garnered the support of 34 per cent of the respondents.

Moreover, 50 per cent of the survey participants rated Chief Minister Baghel’s performance as good, indicating a favourable perception of his governance. In terms of vote share, the Congress is expected to secure 44 per cent of the votes, while the BJP is projected to receive 38 per cent in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

These findings suggest a significant shift in the political landscape of Chhattisgarh, with the Congress well-positioned to emerge as the dominant political force in the state once again.
