Bhilai: The SAIL(Steel Authority of India Ltd.) employees at Bhilai have announced a strike on 30 June 2021 on demand of pay revision. All the unions affiliated with central trade unions, namely CITU, AITUC, HMS, and AICCTU stood in synchrony. The unions had already served a strike notice to the management on June 14. The main demand of the union is to resolve the pay-revision pending since 2017.
In a meeting held on Wednesday, the five unions convened virtually at 5 pm where the decision of the strike was finalized.

The Union decided to don black bands on 28th June in protest against the management. Following which they have announced a hunger strike on June 29. Subsequently, on 30th June all plants will protest in synchrony.
The meeting was attended by NJCS leaders including Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy, SK Baghel, Vansh Bahadur Singh, BN Choubey Harjit Singh, DS Panikar Chandrashekhar, Tapan Sen from CITU, Lalit Mohan Mishra, Ramendra Kumar from ATOC, D Adinarayan, Vinod Soni, Sanjay Vadhakar from HMS, Rajendra Singh, DK Pandey from BMS, Himanshu Bal.
The last pay revision in the steel sector was conducted in the year 2012 for a period of five years. The employees had protested earlier on May 6 this year to communicate their demand.
