Bilaspur: The team of Environment Protection Board reached Bhatia Wine Factory located in Dhuma village of Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh for inspection. During this, the investigation team found many flaws in the factory against the rules of environmental protection, for which the investigation team has imposed penalty on the factory under section 33 of Prevention and Control of Pollution Act and warned to remove the deficiencies.
During inspection, the team of Paryavaran Sanrakshan Mandal found garbage outside the factory. This information was given to the bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Kumar Agarwal. In this case, the High Court has sought a compliance report from the factory management. The hearing of the case will be held after 7 days.
Dirty water from Bhatia Vice Factory operating in Dhuma village of Mungeli was being released into Shivnath river through the drain. Due to this, lakhs of fishes and dozens of cattle died. Villagers of nearby villages are troubled by the stench and pollution. Now the High Court has taken cognizance of this matter and is hearing it.
In the previous hearing, the court had ordered the Environment Protection Board to conduct an inspection. After which, during the hearing today, the investigation team has submitted a report to the court informing about the violation of the rules issued regarding environmental protection.
