Raipur: Deepak Soni, a collector, has directed the two rice millers in the district to provide bank guarantees worth ₹ 4.65 crore for their inefficiency in custom milling activities. M/s Yash Modern Food occupies a location on Tilda Road in Simga, while M/s Aditya Rice Industries is located in the village of Kushabhatha under Sonakhan Tehsil. Ashish Agarwal, the proprietor of the food processing unit known as Yash Modern Food, has lost his bank guarantee of ₹ 1.77 crore. In contrast, Tushar Kumar Nayak, the proprietor of the rice processing unit Aditya Rice Industries, has also lost ₹ 2.87 crore bank assurance.

The Food Department claims that this man, Ashish Agarwal, demonstrated little enthusiasm about depositing custom-milled rice. One day, whilst visiting the physical inventory of his firm, he realized that their stock receipt was 7,086 quintals of paddy. Therefore, the administration has formed legal proceedings for recovery from Yash Modern Food for ₹2.50 crore comprising a bank bond for ₹1.50 crore and a post-dated cheque for ₹ 1 crore. This recovery amount has been determined to represent the lost paddy that was not physically recovered.

Likewise, Tushar Kumar Nayak of M/s Aditya Rice Industries also defaulted on depositing the custom-milled rice. In fact, during an audit, large stocks of paddy were missing, and for this reason, recovery orders for ₹2.87 crore were served. This amount has to be debited out of the deposited Bank guarantees of ₹4.85 Crore of the firm.

The Food Department has stressed maintaining custom milling obligations and is expected to ply up food grains. The negligence that the two millers have demonstrated has led to quite a number of actions administratively. These measures are intended to guarantee accountable practices and avoid similar pitfalls in future custom milling in order to deliver effectively functioning PDS.
