Balrampur: Balangi Police has taken major action in the district. During vehicle checking, police seized a large quantity of explosive material from two trucks. The value of the seized explosive material and two trucks is said to be around Rs 83 lakh. This matter is of Balangi police station area.
According to the information, during vehicle checking, Balangi police seized 63 tons of explosive material, Optimax Prilled Ammonium Nitrate, from two trucks. Besides, two trucks engaged in transportation work were also seized. It is being told that this action has been taken for violation of transport conditions. The value of the seized explosives and material including the truck is said to be Rs 83 lakh. Police have also arrested two accused of transporting explosive material.
Earlier on November 17, naxals targeted the convoy, planting an improvised explosive device (IED) that resulted in the martyrdom of a brave soldier. The incident occurred in the Bindranawagarh constituency of Gariyaband district. Lance Naik Joginder Singh of the ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) suffered severe injuries as a result of the IED blast during the return journey. Despite being rushed to the Manpur Hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
