Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel on Monday transferred the next instalment to the accounts of the beneficiaries under the RGKNY and RGGBKMNYwith a single click.

A sum of Rs 1866.39 crore was transferred to the farmers by CM Baghel from his residence office. The transfer has brought joy amongst the farmers who prep to celebrate the festival of lights-Diwali.

The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana was launched by the state govt in 2021 after the central govt had introduced the infamous farm laws which were protested by farmers majorly. However, the farmers of CG refrained from participating in the nationwide protests. The implementation of RGKNY brought a ‘silent revolution’ in the agricultural sector of the state. It ensured input cost of farmers is covered to a major extent, which also includes the returns on production hence increasing the income of farmers.

Being the first state to implement Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, the state provides grants of Rs 6,000 to more than 10 lakh landless agriculture farmers per year. Under this scheme landless agricultural labourers of the state associated with farming systems like shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, washermen, cobblers and forest produce gathering families will also be benefited.
