Raipur: On the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Jayanti on August 20th, CG CM Bhupesh Baghel will transfer funds under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. A sum of Rs 5.24 crores is sidelined to be transferred to accounts of farmers. With this transfer, a total of Rs 335.24 lakh crores have been transferred to the beneficiaries under the scheme.
Under the same scheme, the Baghel govt announced to purchase Cow urine at Rs 4 per litre and Cow dung at Rs 2 per kg from the cattle rearers registered under the scheme. A sum of Rs 2.64 crore will also be released to the Guathans and the Women SHGs. These committees have so far received Rs 154.02. The procured cow dung is being used in the production of organic vermicompost, super compost and other products used for the harvest.
The decision to procure cow dung was in order to promote Rural industrial parks. The ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ was recently appreciated by PM Modi at the NITI Ayog Meeting attended by CMs from all states.
The ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’- a scheme for the farmers was launched in 2020 by the Congress-led govt that took charge of the administration in 2018. This scheme aims at boosting the rural economy by procuring cow dung at Rs 2 per kilogram from farmers and cattle rearers initially in the rural area and later in the urban area too.
