Raipur: In view of the rising complaints from passengers, CM Bhupesh Baghel had a telephonic conversation wih Union Railway minister- Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday. In his conversation he urged the minister to resume operations of the 23 passenger trains that were cancelled days ago at the earliest.
Meanwhile, under the leadership PCC Mohan Markam the ruling party held protests outside DRM office on Tuesday. PCC chief also convened with DRM Raj Kumar Gupta and demanded restoration of services as early as possible.
SECR, one of the highest revenue earning divisions, had earlier cancelled 10 passenger trains sparking protests from various quarters, including from various political parties in Chhattisgarh. Now, 22 more trains, including Bilaspur-Amritsar Chhattisgarh express, Jharsuguda-Gondia MEMU, and weekly and by-weekly trains, have been cancelled allegedly to pave way for smooth transportation of freight trains.
