Responding to the queries on fertilizer crises, he said that the Centre is providing only 171,476 tonnes (74 per cent) of chemical fertilizers against a demand for 232,000 tonnes for this Rabi season till January 2022. It further added that the govt had promised to supply 1.20 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers in the month of February, out of which only 40,686 tonnes were supplied so far. “ If the govt of India does not provide an adequate amount of fertilizer, the produce in the state would decline which would affect the farmers dramatically.”
Hitting on the comments by Ramvichar Netam, Baghel claimed that no spurious liquor was being sold in the state and that the state govt was tracking all liquor movements. He further added that the farmers agitating in Nava Raipur have been in talks with the committee set up by the state govt and will soon draw a conclusion.
Meanwhile, the Centre has approved 4.11 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers to Chhattisgarh for this Rabi season. This includes 2 lakh tonnes of urea, 60,000 tonnes of DAP, 50,000 tonnes of NPK, 26,000 tonnes of MOP and 26,000 tonnes of SSP.
