Raipur: CM Baghel today departed for Delhi from Raipur today from where he will be leaving for Udaipur to attend the three-day Chintin Shivir in Udaipur.

The Chintin Shivir is meant to brainstorm on a roadmap for the revival of the party`s fortunes and is likely to witness a clamour for the return of Rahul Gandhi to head the organisation as some sections are likely to raise the demand, according to sources.

“In the Chintan Shivir, there will be a discussion on the matters related to the organisation, agriculture, and economic condition of the country. After that, a paper will be prepared and in the last, Sonia Gandhi will take the decision,” Baghel told the media persons at the airport.

The ‘Chintan Shivir’ is being held in Udaipur from May 13 to 15 after a hiatus of 9 years. Around 400 Congress leaders will participate including heads of various departments of Congress, office bearers, former Union ministers and MPs would all participate in the Chintan Shivir; of which 30-35 per cent will be youth and 21 per cent women.

Earlier on Monday, calling for commitment to the party’s accelerated revival, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said it is imperative that leaders and workers step forward and repay their “debt to the party in full measure at a critical juncture” when the party is beset with challenges.

It should be noted that Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh will undergo Assembly elections this year while states like Rajasthan, MP, Chattisgarh, Karnataka and Telangana will undergo Assembly elections in 2023 and Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.
