Raipur: The genre of biopics is the newfound love of Indian cinema and after the success of Anupam Kher’s ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Thalaivi’, a new biopic on a political figure is on cards now.  Rajshree Cinema is going to release a biographical series on Chhattisgarh’s first CM Ajit Jogi with Manoj Khare and Arvind Kurre bankrolling the project. And to give us a glimpse of the childhood of the former CM, the production house has roped in Bachpan ka Pyar Star, Sahdev Dirdo who would portray as young Ajit.

Director Devendra Jangde who helms the movie has been doing pre-shoot workshops for Sahdev that would groom him and develop acting skills in the lad. The first phase of the movie that will feature the childhood of Ajit Jogi would be shot in Giraudpuri on January 25th. The film would be a tell-tale version of Amit Jyogi’s journey from a child hailing from a poor tribal environment to becoming the first CM of Chhattisgarh. Ajit Jogi’s wife Renu Jogi is associated with the project and is sharing aspects of Ajit Jogi’s life with the filmmakers’ sources reported.

Jyogi served as the first CM of the state between November 2000 and December 2003. He has been a member of both the Houses of the Parliament apart from being elected to the state legislature. In 2016, Ajit Jogi and his son Amit Jogi were expelled from INC for anti-party activities and sabotaging by-polls in Antagarh, Chhattisgarh. His son Amit was expelled from the Congress party for 6 years. A gold medallist in Mechanical Engineer from Maulana Azad College of Technology, Bhopal. Ajit Jogi also served as the District Collector of Indore from 1981-85.
