Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government-imposed lockdown across several districts on 6 April in view of the surge. However, with the order nearing its end, the government is scheduled to review the COVID crisis and postulate fresh guidelines to continue the lockdown.
Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi demanded a complete lockdown from the Central government across the country. Additionally, he also demanded financial assistance under “justice” for weaker sections. Following his demand, Congress General Secretary Chandrashekhar Shukla also supported the leader.
Parliament Secretary of Chhattisgarh, Vikas Upadhyay stated betterment of the situation across the state. Appreciating the cooperation from the general public he cited an extension of the lockdown until 15 May.
Citing the declining COVID graph, Youth Congress national spokesperson Subodh Haritwal wrote to Raipur Collector Dr S Bhartidasan seeking an extension of lockdown for at least 10 days. According to him, the state has recovered excellently from the grasp of the virus, but to streamline equity the youth leader suggests the state administration must consider an extension of the lockdown.
Currently, 6 May was the revised date to relax lockdown across all districts. However, the review meeting of the administration will determine the fate of the state’s lockdown.
