Sukma: There has been another rise in friction in Chhattisgarh after Naxals attacked when they suffered setbacks in fighting against them. It was a terrible occurrence that occurred on Monday, where an IED blast planned by Naxals in the Konta region of Sukma district killed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akash Rao Giripunje. The explosion badly hurt the Konta Town Inspector (TI).

Reports from the beginning said the incident happened in the restive Dornapal-Dondra area within the limits of the Konta police station. Naxals placed an IED, and it detonated as people on a routine patrol near it. ASP Giripunje, who directed the operation, was seriously hurt in the explosion and died right away. This loss for the police will mean major issues as they continue their operation against Naxals in the area.

It seems that Naxals carried out this attack in an effort to spread fear and cause problems, as they lost many of their top leaders recently. Because of ongoing action against the Naxals, their confidence and will have decreased, making them act in dishonest ways.

As a response, further troops have been sent to the area, and a big search operation has been initiated to identify the offenders. The officer who was injured is being treated, and officials are waiting to share new details.

Another attack has been condemned by authorities as they continue their efforts to stop those involved in insurgency. It was stated by officials that ASP Giripunje’s loss will not be wasted, as more activities in the area are expected to take place in the coming days.
