Raigad: Dengue cases have reported a spike in Raigad on Wednesday with 2 people testing positive for the vector-borne diseases in the past 24 hours. The two cases were confirmed after the ELISA reports resulted positive.
Out of the two confirmed, 1 is a resident of Gulmohar Colony while the other case is reported from the Kirori Malnagar District Hospital. As per the reports provided by the doctors, the patients are stable and have no history of travel in the past 15 days.
So far 85 patients have been tested in the district for the vector-borne disease, out of which 49 tests yielded positive towards dengue. The tally observed in Raigad witnessed maximum patients from the Urban areas while only 11 were reported from the block. The remaining were detected in Darogapara, Gandhi Ganj and Sangitarai Transport Nagar.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr SN Keshari has appealed to the residents of the district to follow the Dengue guidelines given by the administration. They are also instructed to approach the medical assistance as soon the initial symptoms present.
It should be noted that the state recorded the first vector-borne disease in Raigad this year in July. Nearly 29 patients of the 38 tested then had travel history from neighbouring states.
