Raipur: Amrit Vikas Topne, an IAS officer from the 2014 batch, has submitted his resignation to the Chief Secretary. However, no reports of acceptance of his resignation have surfaced so far. Earlier week, the officer was transferred from the post of a General Manager of the Civil Supplies Corporation to the Planning Department. There has been discussion about his departure since then. However, it has been suggested that he quit owing to family obligations. Several attempts were held to contact the officer on his resignation.
The IAS officer has gone to Delhi, according to ministry officials, after filing his resignation to the Chief Secretary. He’s also deactivated both his official and personal cellphone numbers. On November 27, the government shifted Amrit Vikas Topne, a Jharkhand native, from the Civil Supplies Corporation (NAN). He was appointed Deputy Secretary at the Department of Planning, Economics, and Statistics. Prior to this, Topne held the position of Director of the Culture Department as well as General Manager of Nan.
So far three IAS officers in the state have resigned. Rajkamal from the 1994 batch, Shailesh Pathak from the 1988 batch, and OP Chaudhary from the 2005 batch are among them. Chowdhary joined the BJP after resigning as Raipur Collector before the legislative elections. He is now serving as the BJP’s State Minister.
